I am rewinding to early March, two weeks before my hospitalization. I have been feeling dizzy and nauseous but my family doctor could not find anything. Exploring alternative treatment, I was introduced to a Chinese doctor/acupuncturist in Fremont. I went there three times during the first week. After the first visit, I felt much better and I was hopeful that I have found the effective treatment. To my disappointment, my symptoms did not improve much after my subsequent visits. During my fifth visit, the Chinese doctor went to the clinic lobby and spoke to Thomas privately. She expressed concerns that something might be going on in my brain and we should immediately seek other medical help. She used the Chinese term “轉移” which Thomas did not understand but did not ask at that time. Nevertheless we followed her advice to go to urgent care because she sounded serious. She could have asked us to come back for more follow-up appointments to make more money. No one would blame her because she was just a Chinese doctor. She did the right thing which started the ball rolling for my diagnosis of brain tumor and then lung cancer.
While in the hospital waiting for the surgery, I called the Chinese doctor to thank her and wrote an excellent review on Google. In response, she posted that she used to be an oncology doctor back in China. That solved all the mysteries. “轉移” is metastasis. She diagnosed metastatic cancer to the brain without modern imaging. I did not know how she did it but at least she had the medical training and knowledge.
I believe that God used her to intervene and help me. Without this intervention, I might just go home and then later lose consciousness due to excessive fluid build up inside my brain.
