Utility Pole or Cross

Ever since I came home from the hospital after my surgery, I have been waking up very early in the morning. Many thoughts are crossing my mind and my anxiety level will start rising until my mind is flooded with worries about the future. In the past, I could seldom catch the sunrise because even the alarm clock was not effective in shaking me out of my sleep. It is very different now. As I am lying on my bed tossing around, I notice a glimpse of the first sun ray shooting through the curtain in my room. At the same time, the birds start singing around my house. I have never appreciated these simple yet beautiful things from the nature in the morning before. A month ago, I had to rush off my bed to prepare breakfast and get ready to take my daughter to school before going to work. Now I have lots of free time without any set schedule. Here is a video I took from outside of my room with the birds singing:

After taking the short video, I went back to my bed. When I looked out the window again, I observed a scene that really surprised me. Here is what I saw:

How come there is a cross in my backyard?

Why didn’t I notice it before?

Oh, it is actually the utility pole.

For the same object, our perception of it can differ significantly depending on our perspectives. If I walk outside in my backyard and look up, I can see a regular utility pole. But if I stay in my bed and look outside, all of a sudden I am seeing a cross!

The cancer in my body looks like a curse from many different angles. But can this be a blessing in disguise from a particular angle? How does God look at this?
